   ABOUT PPGCVS


 

    The Postgraduate Program in Veterinary Sciences in Semiarid began in the year 2013, with the entry of the first class of Master's students in August 2013. In October 2018, CAPES approved the Doctoral course, with the entry of the first class in March 2019. The Supervisors team is formed by Veterinarians, Zootechnists and Biologists with the most diverse professional formation, from different universities in Brazil. The Supervisors are mostly from the Federal University of the São Francisco Valley, but there are supervisors from the Federal University of Piauí, the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Sertão Pernambucano, and Embrapa Semiarid.

Objectives

    The students that acquired the Master's or Doctoral degrees should develop professional competence to work in the areas of clinic, public health, biotechnology, wildlife management and conservation, animal production or reproduction, with critical capacity for teaching and research, considering technological trends for improvement and innovation, with a sustainable development of the Semiarid.


Target Students

     Professionals with a degree in Veterinary Medicine or in any undergraduate course in the areas of Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences or Health Sciences.
